With a great pleasure and pride, St. Matthew’s Parish would like to introduce to all our Parishioners, especially all High School Students, a new Youth Group – Axis. Why AXIS? It’s a very good question! We try to emphasize what’s really important for us. We recognize that God is the axis, the highest value in a human’s life and we are called to be one with Him by serving others. When a vast majority of young people hear the term “youth group” an image of “Jesus freak” people sitting in a circle and singing Kumbaya My Lord comes to their mind. However, it’s not the case in our group! We are totally down to earth, young people, who are not afraid to give our own opinion, give a hand to those who are in need and have fun with others! The Axis Group is not for cowards! It’s for those who live or want to learn how to live life according to strong values!  If you are brave enough, join us! Our kick-off meeting will be held on Friday, May 20th 2016 and we will be going to SkyZone in Mt. Olive, NJ. RSVP by May 15th via e-mail:[email protected]

 

To all AXIS Members:

First and foremost thank you for signing up for AXIS Youth Group. I have no doubt that you will bring many talents and “fresh air” which will enrich all members of our group.

As was mentioned last Sunday at our promotion we have three main goals: grow in faith, serve others and have fun.

Having said that let me share with you the schedule of the upcoming events:

1. Kickoff Meeting – Trip to Sky Zone Trampoline Park in Mt. Olive, NJ on May 20^th, 2016 at 7.00PM (We will be meeting at the entrance of the building).

2. Bonfire, “Salads Table” and a Talk: “Knowledge of God” by Alex Nimmo on May 24^th, 2016 at 7.00PM (Please bring your favorite salad or cold dish to share)

3. PIEROGI SALE- fundraising for AXIS Group: We will be cooking pierogi on Saturday morning, June 4^th, 2016 and we will sell them on the weekend: June 4/5, 2016. All funds will be designated for social events for AXIS Group members: for example summer water rafting (date TBD). All members are asked to help out with this sale and cooking so we can cut down or even waive the costs of the rafting trip.

4. Movie Night – “To Save a Life” on June 28^th, 2016 at 8.00PM. This event is a multi-parish event. Feel free to invite your friends who are not members of St. Matt’s (make sure that you let us know how many friends you will be bringing).
